Medium Keeps On Paying.
Even when you stop writing.
I stopped writing to focus on studies, work, and family back in August of last year. I have had pay months of around $2k, but if I don’t submit my stories to bigger publications or write regularly, my pay is more like around $200 a month.
It turns out the minimum monthly wage I get when I’m barely writing is the same as I get when I don’t write at all!
I can’t complain about making money for work I did months ago, but now that I’ve handed in my notice at my day job, I’m hoping I can fall back on Medium and other writing projects without too much trouble. I loved my job, but it’s a struggle juggling small children and full-time study, and I’ll be retirement age if I wait another 20 years to get this registration I’ve wanted my entire life!
Anyway, I wanted to share my top views so far and remind any readers wanting to become writers that those top stories had zero views for some time before they helped pay for my wifi so don’t give up. Also, keen to hear any tips for writing on Medium today, I’m going to be reading a lot to catch up.
