‘The God Trick’ On Racism.

“We’re all the same” — No, we are NOT THE SAME!

The God trick is a term coined by Donna Harraway to describe how universal ideas are used to control people, particularly people who lack skills in critical thinking.

The idea that we are all the same is lazy and manipulative. Basically, it is how we ignore the qualities and characteristics of people and groups, we ignore their history, their culture, their ancestors, their land, their hopes and dreams, and perform the grand “white out”.

It’s like twink, I don’t know what that’s called outside of
Aotearoa New Zealand, but its pasty matte nail polish used in the old days to white out pen and paper errors.
