When you’re discarded by a narcissist, whether you did the leaving or not (due to the discard phase), you wonder if you are in fact the real narcissist.

Narcissists do not leave easily, the ending is dramatic, and even if they outright walk away with someone else, they will continue to find ways to take up your space if you leave enough open.

When you know within yourself that you’re officially done with a narcissist, despite the mess they left behind, you feel a little bit like a superhero and a narcissist:

  1. You’re suddenly incredibly free, there is suffering, but there’s also a sense of grandiosity, strength and power.
  2. You’re all about yourself. Where you once had the mindset to open up to others and listen, hypervigilance mixed with the flood of new information that comes from experiencing narcissism has you hyper-focused, mentally and emotionally, on yourself.
